At the gateway to the archaeological site, this departmental museum with its modern architecture explains the findings of archaeological digs carried out on the site of the ancient capital of the Gallic Helvians. Inaugurated in 2013, this archaeological site-museum displays a selection of archaeological objects arranged around three themes: the birth and evolution of the city, daily life in Alba and religion. A must-see for the whole family. The archaeological site is open to the public every day, all year round.

pas spectaculaire mais pédagogique
bien souvent les objets trouvés sur un site pendant les fouilles sont expédiés vers des musées bien au loin. Le site d'Alba la romaine, mis au jours 15 siècles après avoir disparu sous les vignes , à la fin du 19ème siècle parle peu au béotien car à la différence des grands sites archéologiques il n'offre rien de spectaculaire. Mais le travail de l'imagination est grandement facilité par l'exposition des objets trouvés sur le site dans le musée attenant
