Almost all of the Roman baths remain buried under the current baths and casino gardens. It was in 1826 that the Duchess of Angouleme laid the first stone. The south facade is bordered by a gallery, where antique pieces are displayed. In front of this archway, the thermal water basins still receive the money thrown away by the people taking the waters, in a ritual gesture over several thousand years. Inside, the gallery is covered by a large barrel vault pierced by large rectangular bays allowing zenithal lighting.
