This majestic pyramid is surveyed every year by hundreds of cyclists who set off to conquer its slopes

1912 m, 25 km long and 15 wide! Classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, its slopes combine all climates, from Mediterranean to Nordic, constituting an extraordinary wealth of fauna and flora. For example, depending on the season and the altitude, you will be able to discover the Candolle's Iberis which grows from June to August on the pebbles of the summit, the magnificent Greenland poppy (in July), the too rare Martagon lily on the northern flank at the end of the summer or the Fabre's Niveole which exists only on the southern flank (it blooms only one week at the beginning of May). A unique site, this majestic white pyramid, whipped by the winds two thirds of the year, is surveyed each year by hundreds of cyclists who set out to attack its slopes, trying to repeat the exploits of the climbers of the Tour de France. Once at the top, their efforts are amply rewarded: on a clear day, the "bald mountain" allows you to see all of Provence, from the Alps to the Mediterranean, as far as the Massif Central and the Cévennes. The snow stays on average 140 days a year at the summit. Enough to set up a ski resort, the one of Mont Serein, on the northern slope. With its 12 kilometers of alpine ski slopes and 7 kilometers of Nordic ski slopes, it offers the unique pleasure of enjoying the joys of skiing under the southern sun! Ask at the tourist offices of Carpentras or Sault about the various activities offered to families: treasure hunts, scooter rides, hikes, etc.
