Pauline and Jules Autard, now alongside their father Jean-Paul, are thefifth generation of this family of winegrowers whose estate, located between Courthézon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, has been recognized and awarded for several years for its white and red wines. Of the 30 hectares of hand-harvested vineyards, about ten are in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, the rest are in Côtes du Rhône and Vin de Pays de Méditerranée. From the tasting room, you can see the barrels lined up under the low vaults of a superb cellar.

CLOS DU CAILLOU

Winery

The history of this estate is quite picturesque. In the 19th century, it was a hunting reserve. It was then that an engineer and friend of Ferdinand de Lesseps, who designed the Suez Canal, constructed this enormous building to supply the town of Courthézon with water. And he didn't stop there, building an underground cellar. And the Clos du Caillou was born. Today, the 17-hectare estate is farmed organically. It produces Côtes du Rhône and Châteauneuf du Pape wines. We like the "Les Quartz" cuvée for its value for money.
