Located between Place de la Mirande and Rue Taulignan, Rue Peyrolerie illustrates Avignon's medieval past.

It is one of the most representative of the medieval period of Avignon, especially between place de la Mirande and rue Taulignan, whose slope is quite strong. Not far from there, the rue Banasterie, where you can find one of the most unhealthy prisons in France, the Sainte Anne prison. Of ancient origin, Banasterie recalls that the banastes (basket) manufacturers live at its end, for their manufacture, the willows growing in the Sorgue.

La Rue Peyrolerie est une rue pittoresque d'Avignon. Elle vous amène à quelques vestiges romains du 1er siècle, dont l'accès est grillagé, ainsi qu'à l'arrière du Palais des Papes où se trouve la sortie. Elle est un peu en pente mais c'est une promenade à faire !
