This is a rather unusual and unexpected monument in the Var, especially in a seaside resort. New York or... Saint-Cyr? In the centre of the village, on Place Portalis, stands a flamboyant statue made entirely of cast iron and finely gilded. It is a replica of the American statue - one of the four exact replicas - in a scale model: it measures 2.50 metres, the length of the index finger of the one in New York. Signed on a base by the artist Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, it commemorates the arrival of running water in Saint-Cyr in 1913.
