Unusual table d'hôte dinners with Michelin-starred chef Jeff Bérard, by reservation only.

After years of delighting us at Hostellerie Bérard (itself in the process of redesigning its concept), Michelin-starred chef Jean-François Bérard has embarked on a new adventure in the company of long-time accomplice Pierre-Jean Oddone. At La Bastide des Saveurs, ephemeral dinners offer an immersive experience in the chef's kitchen. A moment suspended in the discovery of flavors, those of the aromatic garden on the property, and the work of products in short circuits. Bérard excellence again and again. Just for you.

Disclaimer - we are definitely the exception than the norm.

Seems to be an amazing place but perhaps more suited to locals or those very experienced with countryside living.

At night, our room was extremely warm and the A/C was weak, we couldn’t open the windows because the room was already mosquito infested. We were kept up for 2hr dealing with the mosquito situation, and got so frustrated we ended up walking out at midnight and rebooking into a different hotel in the next town. As a frequent traveller I was horrified, I’ve never had to do this before. A room for a restful night is literally the basic service of a hotel.

I definitely appreciated how beautiful the place was, the host was very gracious, she communicated professionally and courteously. Sadly zero staff were actually on site overnight for the guests so we had no help with the situation, another big minus. I’m sure it’s lovely, just not for everyone, a shame we were unlucky to not have enjoyed it. An insect net to cover windows might have been a simple fix.

The property was beautiful with sprawling gardens and gorgeous views. However, we stayed for two nights and we received very little hospitality. There was a large private party outside our room in the garden one of these nights, and we were kept up by the noise until past 1:00 in the morning. The host never told us the party would coincide with our visit, and was unsympathetic when we approached her to ask when the party would conclude that evening. We also never received any tour of the property, there was no one available on site, and the breakfast was not as advertised.

Stayed one night last Saturday and absolutely loved my stay. The place is very beautiful, a traditional provençal house, the garden is big and the pool area so relaxing.
We ate dinner at the property that night too and everything was so delicious. The chef was so welcoming and friendly and made us visit the kitchen and explained everything he was cooking for us in the evening. The whole family is so lovely and friendly, when you step into this house you are part of the family, which makes everything different and like a very special experience. Strongly advise this place ❤️
