DOMAINE DE L'ANTICAILLE

Winery

The domain of Anticaille has been operated by the same family for four generations. Jean-Claude Féraux, son of Jean Féraux, who manages this field today. Wines are produced on the land of Sainte-victoire, whose characteristics of exposure, nature of soil and water regime are known to be suitable for the production of high quality wines. The cellar, close to the farmhouse, was one of the first special cellars of Bouches-du-Rhône. The varieties of the domain are most representative of the name: Grenache, syrah, cinsault, mourvèdre and carignan. The work of the vine and all the vinification operations are carried out under the "Mediterranean nutrition in Provence" approach which guarantees respect for the environment and the consumer. Two colours: rosé (assembly of Grenache (65%) and syrah (35%), made by gum maceration and direct pressing, with control of fermentation temperatures, to obtain a fruity and delicate rosé, to the pale gown, to the pale and red (of a bright and vivid colour, born of a beautiful balance between Syrah and Grenache, it is the fruit of both traditional and sophisticated vinification). The rosés have been awarded and rewarded many times in contests and renowned guides.

CHÂTEAU GRAND BOISE

Winery
4/5
1 review

This property, which dates back to 1610, changed owners only three times since. In 1879 the three estates - Grand'Boise, Cabassude and Les Brunets - were unified to form the actual estate. Today, it is a former doctor who keeps it all. The growing is chemical free. The wines are divided into three main categories : the vintage Olympe  (3 colours), Sainte Victoire  (rosé  and red wine), the vintage Mazarine, oak aged (red and white) and reserved for vintage wines. Fabulous ! Do not miss, either, the Jadis, a white wine elaborated with old vineyards with a surprising grain. Finally, the best  is called "1610" in reference to the beginning of the exploitation of this estate. As for the mulled wine, you absolutely have to  try it. The new owner also gave back to life the work of olive oil with a grove of 800 olive trees spread over 3 hectares. La Maison Grand Boise, shop of the Estate, in Rousset, on the N7 road, offers wines from the Estate, but also from other regions, local provencal products, of France and elsewhere as well as a space dedicated to decoration. A paradise for epicureans !

MAS DE CADENET

Winery

In 1813, Jean-Jacques Négrel and his brothers acquired the property. Since then, 7 generations have succeeded one another passing on and perfecting their know-how in viticulture. Today, Guy Négrel runs the 60 ha farmhouse with the help of his children Maud and Matthieu, faithful to the spirit of his ancestors, combining creativity and tradition. Here, innovation is a tradition like this Mas Négrel Cadenet rosé, the first rosé to be vinified in oak barrels. With a reasonable yield (45 hl/ha) and an average age of 35 years - the oldest vines are 70 years old - the vineyard offers consistent quality. The estate produces 70% rosé (grenache, syrah, cinsault), 20% red (grenache and syrah) and 10% white (rolle). Among the house's successes: the "Grande Garde", a gastronomic grand cru made from complex vinification and old vines selected with tact, or the fruity and highly award-winning "Mas Cadenet". Finally, at Christmas time, to accompany the thirteen Provencal desserts, the mas' cooked wine is a marvellous accompaniment.

CHÂTEAU FERRY LACOMBE

Winery

The vines of Château Ferry Lacombe extend over 120 hectares. The Ferry family settled here in 1442, accompanying Good King René to Aix-en-Provence. They stayed here until 1820. On the strength of his agricultural experience in Brazil, Michel Pinot took over the property in 2000, with the ambition to produce exceptional wines. The extent of the vineyard, the diversity of the soils and the presence of different grape varieties makes it possible to meet the challenge; the High Environmental Value (HEV3) approach produces top-of-the-range, elegant and authentic wines, to be shared for special occasions. The ever-popular Cascaï rosé or Naos rosé, but also reds and whites with star names.
