This castle, built at the end of the 10th century, is one of the three oldest in Provence still standing
Château de l'Empéri is an immense stone vessel that has stood the test of time, from the 9th century to the present day. It is the oldest fortified castle in Provence still standing, and one of the three largest, along with the Palais des Papes and the Château du Roi René. In its centuries-old halls, the château houses two museums: the Army Museum and the Salon and Crau Museum, which recounts local life. At the foot of the château, you'll also find Nostradamus' Garden of the Simple Things. In season, it hosts a variety of cultural and festive events.
