This museum is very instructive on the first inhabitants of Martigues
Over 2,500 years ago, the first inhabitants of what was not yet called Martigues were already populating the island, developing housing and craft skills, as well as trade relations. The very interesting archaeological showcase is an in-situ archaeological site reconstituting the village as it was in the5th century BC, with 4 houses reconstructed from excavations and research. The site is highly instructive on the first inhabitants of Martigues.
