Museum presenting paintings by Felix-Ziem, works by other artists and a local archaeological collection in Martigues.
The museum, created in 1908, bears the name of its creator, Felix Ziem (1821-1911). Fallen under the spell of this city, which he contributed to the nickname "the Venice of Provence", this prolific painter - a great traveller - left in his museum many orientalist-inspired canvases painted on his return from his travels. But other artists are also honored. Among the most famous: Dufy, Picabia or Manguin. Small but beautiful local archaeological collection as well. A small detour that you will not regret.
