An elegant botanical garden with different types of garden: Japanese, Chinese, Mediterranean, medicinal plants...

In the very elegant Borély park, known to all Marseille residents since Pagnol frequented it during his childhood, enthusiasts can discover a botanical garden, inaugurated on its current location in 1918. There is a traditional Japanese garden, a Chinese garden from the twinning with Shanghai, a medicinal plant garden, a palmetum, a Mediterranean garden and much more… The opportunity to learn more about our planet and to become aware of nature conservation from a very early age. Every autumn for the past six years, "Akimatsuri", the festival of Autumn and Japanese Culture, has been held (more information on the website).

Opening time and information on BOTANICAL GARDEN

Open all year round. Low season: Tuesday to Friday, 12pm to 5:30pm; weekends and public holidays, 10am to 5:30pm. High season: Tuesday to Friday, 12pm to 7pm; weekends and public holidays, 10am to 7pm. Low season: October to end of March. Free admission. Registration required. Guided tour.
