At the heart of the MuCEM, on the ground floor to be precise, is this modern and spacious bookshop, opened in 2013 by Actes Sud and their Marseilles reference bookstore Maupetit, on the Canebière. The emphasis here is clearly on works of art related to the MuCEM exhibitions, beautiful books and everything related to topics around the Mediterranean of course. Popularity of the place obliges, books in foreign languages are also sold, which is not always easy in Marseille. All the same, the whole constitutes a beautiful collection of nearly 40,000 works, accessible to all, for the pleasure of the eyes and the touch.
