The oldest cinema in the world. This is where the first public and paying projections of the history of the seventh art took place when the industrialist Antoine Lumière bought a house in La Ciotat. In 1895, Auguste and Louis Lumière invented the cinema and turned around twenty holiday films, including the very famous film «The arrival of a train at La Ciotat station». Later in the 1930 s, the Eden was both a film and a music hall where Yves Montand, Bernard Blier and Fernandel began. In the 1980 s, however, with the assassination of his manager, the room fell slowly into oblivion and closed its doors in 1995. Renovated in 2013, Eden Théâtre is now the dean of cinemas in the world. Qu'a vist La Ciotat, se noun a vist Ô Central, pou dire : n'ai rèn vist ! This institution of the port gathers natives, visitors and workers of the building site from the morning around a coffee, the midday to benefit from the sun and the evening for aperitifs which one remembers.
