Voted the most beautiful bay in the world in 2019, La Ciotat joins the very closed Club of the same name among 42 bays in 27 countries. The city of 33,800 inhabitants, is located 31 kilometers east of Marseille, halfway between the Boueno Maire and Touloun! It has seen the birth of many famous men: Louis and Auguste Lumière, the inventors of cinema, Jean Boiteaux, the first French Olympic swimming champion, Olivier Dahan, director of the film La Môme, Jules Hugues, inventor of pétanque... If they've contributed to the city's reputation, they're not the only ones. La Ciotat is full of charms. You will be able to see it by going to see the Eden-Concert, the oldest cinema in the world, the old hotel of Grimaldi-Régusse, the church Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption dating from 1603, the Mugel Park, 12 hectares of plantations at the foot of the Bec de l'Aigle and many other things like the Green Island or the Cliffs of Souberyranes whose landscapes will enchant you.

In July 1832, Alphonse de Lamartine was passing through La Ciotat and wrote: "Blessed is the man who is born and dies in the sun. Blessed above all is he who has his house, the house and garden of his fathers by the sea, whose every wave is a spark that casts its light and radiance on the earth! "The charm of La Ciotat, which had worked on him, will undoubtedly work on you.
