LA MAISON DE LA PISTACHE
In the kingdom of pistachios!
What a great initiative: a chic store in the heart of town to honor the pistachio! The Territoire de Provence group (Le Roy René, Brémond et fils) has taken up the challenge to (re)discover the pistachio. You'll find them roasted, sweetened, salted, in oil and, of course, used to flavor delicious ice creams. Pistachios have been consumed in the Middle East for 3,000 years, and are a staple of traditional Iranian dishes, as well as our own Mediterranean cuisine, such as financier or pistachio amaretti. It's also an agricultural project, since it involves re-establishing the cultivation of the pistachio tree, which is adapted to a dry climate and can live up to 300 years!
