Museum with a collection of contemporary textile art and modern art exhibitions

The former Archbishop's Palace, which became the Tapestry Museum in 1909, is a vast building composed of four wings framing an inner courtyard. The Palace houses a rich collection of tapestries from the 17th and 18th centuries, collected by the archbishops. Patron and director of musical scenes, Gabriel Dussurget organized in 1949 the first festival of lyric art dedicated to Mozart. Today, the Tapestry Museum also presents a collection of contemporary textile art and organizes exhibitions of modern art.

As a student, admission was free. All staff were very friendly and there were some very interesting things to see. Captions for each tapestry were in English and French and presented very engagingly.
