A new space housing masterpieces from the remarkable collection on deposit at Musée Granet.
Originally housed in the Carmes convent, the Pénitents Blancs brotherhood had a new chapel built in 1654. Between 1865 and 1878, the chapel became the property of the town council, and hosted the Bourguignon donation. Then a municipal school, an art school and finally an annex to the Palais des Congrès, it was renovated and inaugurated in 2013 to house masterpieces on loan from the Jean and Suzanne Planque Foundation: works by Cézanne, Picasso, Dubuffet and Monet. Nearly 300 works can be viewed over 700m2.

La capilla, sobria y luminosa, crea un ambiente casi mágico donde las obras respiran. No es una exposición al uso: aquí, los cuadros y esculturas parecen conversar entre ellos. Cézanne, Van Gogh, Monet, Degas, Dubuffet… todos están presentes, pero no para impresionar, sino para emocionar.
Lo más bonito es que se siente la mirada personal de Planque: no coleccionaba por moda, sino por amor al arte. Una visita breve pero inolvidable, perfecta para quienes buscan una experiencia más íntima y auténtica con el arte moderno.
