A new space housing masterpieces from the remarkable collection on deposit at Musée Granet.

Originally housed in the Carmes convent, the Pénitents Blancs brotherhood had a new chapel built in 1654. Between 1865 and 1878, the chapel became the property of the town council, and hosted the Bourguignon donation. Then a municipal school, an art school and finally an annex to the Palais des Congrès, it was renovated and inaugurated in 2013 to house masterpieces on loan from the Jean and Suzanne Planque Foundation: works by Cézanne, Picasso, Dubuffet and Monet. Nearly 300 works can be viewed over 700m2.

Bella mostra dentro ad una chiesa antica,si tratta di una raccolta di quadri moderni degli amici del pittore Jean Planque. Hanno tanti Picasso, diversi pittori conosciuti e tanti che non conoscevo ma che mi sono piaciuti molto. Una collezione simpatica! Prezzo onesto, 6 euro,ma se si mostra che si è prenotato il museo Granet costa la metà.

I came here on purpose on my last morning in Aix, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The staff wouldn’t let me in because I had a luggage with me, and they also refused to store it for me. If you’re visiting here with a luggage, make sure to find somewhere to store your it first.

Merita una visita. Anche perché con il biglietto del Musée Granet l'ingresso è gratuito.
La struttura è particolare, in una ex-chiesa.
Non ha tante opere, ma ci sono diversi Picasso, un Van Gogh e altri artisti, sia loro contemporanei che più recenti.
