This majestic fountain is one of Aix-en-Provence's best-known and most emblematic monuments.

It is one of the most famous monuments, even the most emblematic, of Aix-en-Provence. Since 1860, when it was inaugurated, the Rotunda Fountain has dominated the eponymous square from the top of its 12 meters and is the highlight of the no less famous Cours Mirabeau. Its basin, 32 meters in diameter, is decorated with 12 bronze lions that seem to stand guard. At the top of the fountain, three "graces" look in three different directions: Justice towards Aix, trade and agriculture towards Marseille, and finally the fine arts towards Avignon.

C'est l'emblème d'Aix-en-Provence, une fontaine monumentale et le point de départ du cours Mirabeau, l'autre emblème de la ville. Elle est vraiment magnifique avec ses lions, ses cygnes en fonte, ses dauphins crachant de l'eau et ses statues de femmes en marbre tout en haut de la fontaine.

L'emblème de la ville et le lieu de rencontre par excellence. Paris à sa place de l'étoile, à Aix on a la Rotonde (qui est le nom de la fontaine et non de la place, mais on fait tous comme si).
