Aix-en-Provence houses the only real Noh Theatre in Europe. Awarded in 1992 to the city by the Kano family, the famous dynasty of this ancestral art, he changed his address. He is now at Parc Saint Mitre. Offered in 1992 by Master Tanshu Kano, the structure is superb with its iconic pine and hinoki structure, a cedar from Japan. It's on this scene, open-air public, what the noh troops are expressing, total Japanese drama, sung, danced and often masqué repeatedly. The themes of this kind are manifold and are opposed: Honour and love, duty and self-fulfillment… Every year, the Association Théâtre Noh-Maître Kano organizes Japan Spring, a tribute to the Japanese culture. For the occasion, the site hosts performances and animations of theatre, dance, floral art, raku (pottery), shiatsu, writing of gaza, workshop of music and expression of noh… Kangei!
