Neoclassical style courthouse located near the Cours Saleya in Nice, on a busy square in the old town.

Very close to Cours Saleya, the Palace of Justice stands in the square of the same name. Built between 1883 and 1892 on the site of a former Dominican convent, its architecture is characteristic of the neo-classical style with its colonnades and grand staircase. The place has often made headlines with historical trials like the disappearance of Agnès Lerroux (Affaire du Casino du palais de la Méditerranée) without forgetting the incredible escape of Albert Spaggiari. As for the Palace of Justice square, it is one of the most lively squares in the old town: night and day, you will come across musicians, antique dealers, painters and collectors.

The Place du Palais of justice is a nice little square of the Old Nice, with its fountain, its newsstand, its bell tower, and of course the Law Courts which impose by its imposing presence and numerous columns. For my part, I spent here in the evening and I have some specialties on one of the terraces of restaurant just opposite the palace.
