In a magnificent Belle Époque villa transformed into a private museum, the visitor discovers on the ground floor of the building the history of the town of Cap d'Ail through archives, photographs and objects that testify to the expansion of the seaside resort that attracted an international society attracted by the mild winter and the entertainment of the Riviera. The floors house temporary exhibitions, including a unique collection of paintings, drawings and enamels by the Basque painter Ramiro Arrue (20th century) presented thematically.

Quality Tourism. Open all year round. Open Sundays 11am/18pm in season and 10am/16pm Nov to March; Tuesday to Friday: 9am/12:30pm and 2pm/18pm in season and 9am/12pm and 1:30pm/16:30pm in winter. Admission: €9. Fridays. Doors close 30 days before. Free admission for children under 12. Adults: €9. Group (10 people): €5. Reduced admission: €5 (students, over 60s and 12-18s). Guided tour (groups by prior arrangement). Store. Free audioguide in 3 languages (French, English, Italian).

The Villa les Camélias takes us back to the world of the Belle Epoque. This building bears witness to the prestigious past of Cap d'Ail. On the ground floor, we find the singular history of the town, and on the first floor the exceptional collection of paintings, drawings and enamels of the Basque painter Ramiro Arrue.

Vous pouvez y découvrir des photos d'archives sur Cap d'Ail, de nombreuses oeuvres du peintre basque Ramiro Arrue et en ce moment un exposition de Mitchel Johansson.
Ce lieu a beaucoup de charme, je recommande...
Wir waren wegen der vorübergehenden Ausstellung von Mitchell Johnson dort. Diese kann man noch bis September 2024 besuchen. Aber auch die Ausstellung über Cap d'Ail und insbesondere Raimiro Arrue sind sehenswert. Unbedingt einen kleinen Abstecher machen und danach noch das Meer besuchen.
Il vaut vraiment la peine d'être visité : la villa est architecturalement très belle et le musée contient non seulement des documents intéressants, des photographies et des objets relatifs à l'histoire de Cap d'Ail, mais aussi une bonne collection d'œuvres d'art.
