Cap d'Ail is the last town before entering Monaco. Formerly a district of La Turbie, it became a popular seaside resort at the beginning of the 20th century and has very pretty, well-sheltered beaches. You can admire many facades dating from the Belle Époque, such as the Château des Terrasses built at the end of the 19th century, the Château de l'Hermitage, the Hôtel Éden or the Villa Le Roc Fleuri. Cap d'Ail also has a dozen parks and gardens that are home to Mediterranean flora and some rare species. The customs garden, the Sacha Guitry park and the park of the Château des Terrasses can be visited with free admission.
