ARBORETUM

This forest arboretum was created in 2009 by the Community of Municipalities of Civraisien-en-Poitou in partnership with the regional center of forestry property Poitou-Charentes. It aims to present the main forest species that can be planted in South Vienne. These were installed in trays at the same density as those found in forest plantations. A wooded parcel was surrounded by chestnut fences, a symbolic dominant of Civraisien, in order to protect the young trees from deer attacks.
