PANORAMA DES DUNES

The huge statue of the Virgin overlooks the Clain River. The bronze statue of Our Lady of the Dunes blessing the city was built at the initiative of Cardinal Pie in 1875-1876. It is located in the Dunes district, which is accessible by bus, car or, for the most courageous, by taking a staircase near the Joubert Bridge. 217 steps to climb! The climb is worth the detour because at the end, you will have one of the most beautiful views of the city before your eyes. You can admire the different churches, the slate and red tile roofs.
