In Poitiers, an architectural jewel with a radiant Gothic chevet.
The "montier neuf" - new monastery - was built in the second half of the 11th century on the initiative of Duke William VIII of Aquitaine, and consecrated in 1096 by Pope Urban II. Pass the 18th-century facade and admire the triple nave with its Gothic choir raised by large windows. What luminosity! And don't leave without taking a tour of the building to admire its 14th-century radiant Gothic chevet and flying buttresses.
