AFEV POITIERS
In 15 years, 60 000 students, through this association, gave some of their time (usually 2 hours per week) to accompany a child or young person in difficulty in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. The Association estimates that 20% per cent of young people leave the school system every year without qualification. It is by rejecting this exclusion that AFEV can offer students the will to act through concrete projects: accompany a child in a large section of kindergarten in the discovery of books; help a group of children from travel, on the reception field, to help them in their education. The opportunity to accompany a student in his school career, to help her in his orientation project, is open to phd. In practice, the accompaniment is malleable: the 2 hours of commitment are planned according to the use of each time. In addition, training is automatically provided. AFEV's commitment is recognised and validated by many universities, and the organisation is supported, inter alia, by the Ministries of National Education, Social Cohesion and Youth. When life is not a cake, some find the AFEV.
