CARNAVAL

The last carnival was monstrously rock'n'roll. We saw rock zombies, mutant Elvis and shrek punk descend on the city. Every year, the theme varies and the city comes alive with a fanfare under a rain of confetti and streamers. Under the aegis of the association Poitiers Jeunes, local houses and inhabitants take part in the parade which starts at 4pm and ends at night with the burning of the Carnival man and a good vegetable soup on the Place d'Armes. 2021 will host the 30th edition.
