Wax museum in Loudun, it retraces the life and work of Theophraste Renaudot, famous doctor and journalist.
It was in this beautiful family home that Théophraste Renaudot was born in 1586 in the Protestant Loudun of the time and lived there for some twenty years with his wife. Transformed into a wax museum in 1981, the place retraces the life and work of this illustrious doctor and journalist who foundedthe Gazette, the first French newspaper, in 1631. It was here that he developed a herbal remedy: Polychreston. The tour will show him sitting at his table and display cases with his diplomas. Renaudot left his name to a literary prize awarded every year.
