In the neo-Gothic mansion (1862, recently renovated) of the illustrious Henri Barré, local doctor, art lover, traveler and artist. Here you can admire a prestigious collection of French and foreign earthenware, fine art (Flemish school in particular) and furniture. Several rooms are devoted to local history, featuring portraits and objects that belonged to the Dukes of la Trémoïlle. You'll also discover the famous Duhomard, a Thouars-style aperitif designed by Emile Diacre. Each year, 1/3 of the collections are presented in the form of a thematic exhibition.
