Hiking trails around the famous Puits d'Enfer waterfall near Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole.

An area of biological interest, home to rare species, famous for its legend: a farmer, his cattle and his cart slipped and disappeared into the Puits d'Enfer waterfall, an accident shrouded in mystery since no trace of it was ever found. Several steep hiking trails have been laid out around the famous waterfall, where you can discover contrasting natural landscapes, a magnificent panorama of the Saint-Maixent collapse ditch and a listed pollarded oak.
