16th century castle with ruined garden classified as a historical monument, a charming place that invites you to a romantic stroll

Without doubt one of the most romantic walks on the banks of the Sèvre and in the region... This gentleman's residence built at the end of the 16th century, today a ruined garden classified as a Historic Monument, was the property of Agrippa d'Aubigné, a controversial writer and poet. His famous granddaughter, and last wife of Louis XIV, the Marquise de Maintenon, spent her childhood there. The site, as photogenic as it is charming, is lined with information panels. A chain ferry links the site with the village of Sciecq, located on the other bank.

Château en ruines, nous ne pouvons pas le visiter.il est grillagé. A côté il y a le parc à visiter

Lieu très agréable et en plus chez fred, ya toujours un truc à boire !

Château visitable uniquement sur rendez-vous. Mais possibilité de faire une partie du tour et jolie balade à côté et en traversant la rivière grâce au bac en été. C'est un lieu paisible avec un parking adapté et des panneaux nous racontant l'histoire du lieu et nous montrant des photos du château en meilleur état.
