A modern museography in 3 stages: a headdress museum, the history of the château and the life of industrialist Jean-François Cail.

The Château de Javarzay features a modern, multimedia museography. The museum focuses on three themes: 19th-century hairstyles and feminine elegance (from fashion to techniques from here and elsewhere), from which you'll be able to take home an amusing digital postcard from the "coiffomaton"; the history of Château de Javarzay; and the life and work of the brilliant industrialist Jean-François Cail, a native of Chef-Boutonne and inventor, among other things, of the1st high-speed train.

Nice château and lovely lake to walk around and have a picnic. Been many times, always great, church nearby walking distance also, a little museum, few shops/bar, nice place on a summers day to enjoy.
