The first convent for women in Saintonge, founded in 1047, the Abbaye aux Dames is one of the jewels of the Romanesque art of Saintonge. You will discover the conventual buildings where young noblewomen were once educated. Today, the Abbaye aux Dames offers, with Musicaventure, sensory experiences to explore the site, its history and its music. Five exceptional modules for a total immersion in the world of the Abbey await you. Alone, with family or friends, you will experience an exciting and original adventure!

Hotel "Les Chambres de l'Abbaye

Converted into hotel rooms on the first floor, the former nuns' cells now offer visitors unusual nights and an intimate perception of the abbey.
To access them, you must take the magnificent stone staircase. A long vaulted corridor distributes the rooms. The ancient floors, the beauty of the vaults, set the tone for the night. There is no television here, the amenities are on the landing for the majority of the rooms. A form of asceticism to taste the essential: calm, serenity and extra soul.
33 rooms open onto the courtyard and garden sides.

Opening time and information on THE LADIES' ABBEY
High season from 1 May to 30 September. Low season from October 1st to April 30th. Schedules see website. Adult : 10 € (bS : 9 €). Child (from 6 to 18 years old) : 9 € (bS : 8 €). Group : 9 € (bS : 8 €). These rates are for the sound trip, audioguide, sound nap + 1 tour of the Carrousel. Musical Carrousel and Virtual Festival rates: 3 € for all.
