Every island has its own beer and its own production! In Oléron, you won't want to miss this brewery, which is signposted. Continue on your way to a very unusual building: a former 17th-century Trappist monastery! Here, you'll meet Jean-Luc Métayer, the brewmaster who speaks lovingly of his old-fashioned beers made with yeast and refermented in the bottle. Each beer is made without colorants or preservatives. Les Naufrageurs' beer has been awarded the Fouquet d'or several times in the national competition.
