World-famous since Jacques Demy brought it to light in his cult film Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, Place Colbert has continued to attract curious people and tourists eager to follow in the footsteps of Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorléac. This large square, with its imposing trees and lined with houses with light-coloured facades and tiled roofs, is typical of Charente squares, and is also distinguished by its triumphal arch fountain, which is very popular on hot days.
