The Musée des Commerces d'Autrefois (Museum of Old-time Shops) offers an immersion in the past through a reconstruction of early 20th century shops. Located in Rochefort, this museum presents the world of stores and small trades as they existed at the time. Housed in a former warehouse with Eiffel-style architecture, it features an exhibition of over 1,000 m², recreating the atmosphere of the shops of the time. The tour includes life-size stores, thousands of advertising objects and precisely reconstructed settings. The museum retraces an era marked by the emergence of advertising, preceding the rise of supermarkets and mass consumption. A collection of antique objects evokes the atmosphere of grocery stores, pharmacies, cafés and craft workshops of the last century. The spaces are designed to recreate the smells, colors and ambiences characteristic of the period. The Musée des Commerces d'Autrefois offers self-guided and guided tours, as well as educational activities for groups. The museum caters for a wide range of visitors, from history buffs to those curious about our commercial heritage and looking for something different. An outing for all ages.

Not recommended for teenagers who do not like this type of place.
From the visit, I ordered DVD which allows you to freshen up the visit at home, in an armchair!
But I will return to see on site to spend an excellent moment. I love this place...
