Corderie Royale, now home to the Médiathèque and the Rochefort Chamber of Commerce and Industry, open to the public

This building, commissioned by Louis XIV, houses the Centre International de la Mer, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Conservatoire du Littoral and a media library. At the heart of the naval arsenal, the 374 m-long building was used to manufacture ropes for the navy's sailing ships. Events are organized by the Centre International de la Mer, including birthday packages for children aged 6 to 11, and seaman workshops during the summer vacations. The latest? The fish workshop, a new way of discovering marine knots.

Un grand bravo à toute l’équipe de La Cordonnerie Royale ! Une prestation superbe du début à la fin, un repas tout simplement succulent, avec des saveurs parfaitement maîtrisées. L’ambiance chaleureuse et raffinée a rendu notre expérience encore plus mémorable. Mention spéciale à Naïma, une maître d’hôtel d’une rare excellence, ainsi qu’au chef de rang, véritable maître de salle. La famille Rochefortaise et Ch’ti vous remercie sincèrement pour ce moment d’exception. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !
