Corderie Royale, now home to the Médiathèque and the Rochefort Chamber of Commerce and Industry, open to the public

This building, commissioned by Louis XIV, houses the Centre International de la Mer, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Conservatoire du Littoral and a media library. At the heart of the naval arsenal, the 374 m-long building was used to manufacture ropes for the navy's sailing ships. Activities are organized by the Centre International de la Mer, including birthday packages for children aged 6 to 11, and seaman workshops during the summer vacations. A temporary exhibition is devoted to visual artist Hicham Berrada.

Toujours un accueil souriant et agréable. Nous avions l'habitude de venir 1 à 2 fois par an. Je ne sais pas si le chef a changé. Mais nous avons été très déçus par le plat ris de veau sauce morilles, patates douces, oignons rouges, pomme fruit et raisins rotis. Plutôt carottes aux ris de veau...
