The castle, whose towers, curtain walls, walkways, medieval hall and underground chamber are open to visitors
Acquired in 1972, the château has been progressively renovated by its current owners. Legend has it that St. Peter was commissioned by God to scatter castles all over France. After scattering some along the Loire, he placed a few on the banks of the Charente, including this one. Paule and Claude Morain have devoted their lives to this fortified enclosure, which hosts numerous events throughout the year.
