Dance classes La Rochelle

This association never ceases to spice up the lives of the people of La Rochelle! Installed in the Rompsay district, it makes the people of La Rochelle dance to the frenzied rhythm of salsa and Caribbean dances. And it has been going on for 15 years now! The philosophy of this association? To make dancing a real moment of sharing and pleasure! The class schedules change according to your level, whether you are a beginner or an expert. This year the association is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the famous "Salsa en la Playa" festival which takes place on the island of Ré.

This dance school not only enjoys a fine reputation, but is also conveniently located for parents, close to primary and secondary schools (Fromentin, Massiou). Founded in 1997, it comprises two studios and an entrance hall where you can watch the dancers evolve. The two teachers, Valérie - who trained on courses abroad - and Caroline - who has a background in dance studies - welcome children aged 4 and over, introducing them to dance in a playful way, with different exercises to stimulate their imagination. Many disciplines are taught: Modern'jazz, Classical, Cabaret, Zumba... Since its opening, the school has organized an annual dance show on the La Coursive stage.

This year, the Conservatoire de Musique et de Danse celebrates its sixtieth anniversary. A state-approved institution, it has over 1,000 students, 51 teachers and 11 community and municipal schools throughout the region. A place of artistic life where quality and pleasure go hand in hand, it enables students to develop both artistically and personally by learning to play, dance and sing together. The Conservatoire offers all disciplines of orchestral and polyphonic instruments, and even classical and jazz guitar. Membership fees vary according to where you live, with preferential prices available for residents of the greater La Rochelle area. Does your child want to learn music? The Ateliers Découvertes, aimed at children in CP and CE1, enable them to discover a wide range of instruments during a 45-minute lesson in a small group.

Seville was never so close to La Rochelle. For several years the flamenco has had its academy led by a Andalusian, which has dance in the skin. Carmen traveled through this music learning with the greatest masters (Manola, Debla) and occurring worldwide: Japan, Seville, Stuttgart… A renowned choreographer, she chose to open this school in La Rochelle to make known all the richness of the flamenco, which is for her "a very deep way of being in life, to tamper with it, to face it without fear." All courses are provided, from its simple initiation to the most technical level and to the guitar courses. Futé, the academy is no longer in the district of Lafond but in the municipality of Saint-Xandre.
