Located a stone's throw from the Old Port, on a busy downtown street, this bookshop is a La Rochelle institution. Even before entering, passers-by can stop to discover the many paperbacks on display in front of the window. It's sure to make you want to leaf through one. Outside, you'll also find a wide range of postcards. Eric and the whole Maison de la Presse team offer a warm welcome and sound advice. Although the place isn't very big, it does offer a wide variety of books (regional, novels, cookery, art), stationery, cards, regional and national press and travel guides.
