NAPOLEONIC AND AFRICAN MUSEUMS
Museum where you can discover Napoleon's sword and a fragment of his coffin, as well as masks and "souvenirs" from Africa.
Masks, jewelry, weaponry... these African "souvenirs" were collected and displayed by Baron Gourgaud in the barracks of the governor's house. The Musée Napoléonien was Napoleon's last French residence. Visitors can see the general's sword, a fragment of his coffin and, in the garden, a tree that was grafted by his hand. As a final tribute, all the clocks are stopped at 5:49 p.m., the time of the Emperor's death...
