FORTIFICATIONS ET REMPARTS

At the heart of the Pertuis d'Antioche, Ile d'Aix, with its rich natural and historical heritage, attracts many visitors - almost 300,000 a year. Its 132 hectares offer unspoilt beaches, wild creeks and fortifications dating back to the ^17th century, built to protect the Rochefort arsenal. A signposted trail guides visitors to listed sites, including an ^11th-century church and priory, a Napoleonic museum and an African museum.
