A tower in Benon, once known as the Tower of the Six Fools.
This astonishing edifice, 18 m high, is a real eye-catcher! But where does the strange name come from? To find out, we have to go back to 1848. At the time, the Countess de Benon - owner of part of the forest - was up against a lawyer. As a result of one of the lawsuits, the commune decided to erect this tower, also known as the Tour de l'Horloge, in 1877, with compensation paid. As this monument had cost more than the clock itself, and as the project had been adopted by only six councillors, it was named "the tower of the six fools".
