THE MILL OF VERTEUIL

This 17th century mill is a must-see on a visit to Verteuil for several reasons. First of all, it is in working order and operated by Marie-Ange and François Lancestre who use their flour to make and sell their bread and their delicious puff pastry brioche. Secondly, it benefits from an exceptional setting, at the foot of the castle and on the banks of the Charente. And you can enjoy all this while sipping tea or nibbling at the table or on the deckchairs that the owners have had the delicacy to install on the riverside.
