For 20 generations, the Frapin family has acquired its know-how in this region of the cognaçais where it has lived since 1270. First vignerons and distillers, Frapin today favoured cognac. La Vous you intrigue? You know that the famous writer is nothing but an illustrious ancestor of the family! With writings like those of this ancestor, we don't doubt the quality of production!

In the heart of the Grande Champagne appellation, 10 minutes from Cognac, lies the largest organic vineyard in the region. It is a nugget tracked by lovers of cognacs, pineaux and red, white and rosé wines... organic! The estate dating from the 19th century and its 57 hectares belong since 2017 to the American group, Sazerac. Its reception and tasting store usually open all year round is temporarily closed until spring 2021 for restructuring.

This area of Grande Champagne (this is a Gaec associating Alain Barbot and Serge Marcadier) oganese tours of the operation of jeep (by appointment) and tastings of cognac, pinch, country wine but also aromatized mustard with cognac and pinch. The production, very diversified, has iron in the Blacksmith family, cognac, pineau, cassis, marjolaine, pétillant, and pétillant. Pierre and Christophe took over the estate of Michel Blacksmith, father. To celebrate 100 years of belonging to their family, the brothers installed 260 m ² of solar panels on the roof of a hangar. This cognac house isn't new. In 1702, Jacques Ferrand was already a ploughman and wine-grower-distiller in Biard, a locality in the commune of Segonzac. Today, the family vineyard is located in Nérolle, still in the commune of Segonzac. With the teaching of his ancestors, the young Pablo Ferrand perpetuates the tradition and only negotiates old cognacs and pineau made as in the past. Pierre Ferrand, Pablo's grandfather who created the Pierre de Segonzac brand, started distilling in the 1960s. L'Ancestrale is an exceptional cup of brandy, as the oldest dates back to 1924. This eau-de-vie was distilled by Pierre Ferrand's grandparents, who used it in the 1990s to make his Ancestrale. Pierre de Segonzac's youngest blends have a minimum of four years for VSOPs before being marketed. Two cognacs (the XO Sélection des Anges and the XO Extra) each won a gold medal in 2015 at the International Wine Challenge which takes place every year in Bordeaux.

Proud of an existence spanning more than a century, Paul Beau extends its vineyards over the Grande Champagne area, producing an excellent cognac. The family's production offers fine aromas of fruit, spices and warm scents, enhanced by stronger notes that give this cognac good staying power. The house also produces a pineau that can be enjoyed as an aperitif in fine weather!

Adjacent to the tourist office, the Maison de la Grande Champagne is a beautiful gateway to the cognac world. 17 producers join this House. The shop is held in turn by winegrowers, members of the association, to present products and advise visitors.

In its superb property of country stone and slate roof, the blacksmith couple receives with a smile the curious visitors to know his methods of work, his production and the secrets of his cognac! A real moment of pleasure with wine growers who do not dry on the subject, real passion! And all this love is felt in the production of the domain. A visit is essential!

On the vast estate and in the cellars, the family will take you everywhere to discover the area on which it works and which is close to it. Between distillation and assembly, you will know all manufacturing techniques.
