CHESNEL CASTLE
U-shaped Chesnel castle surrounded by a dry moat, with square towers and a crenellated parapet in the French classical style
This château is well worth a visit. Built in the early 17th century, its square towers and crenellated parapet in the purest French classical style, untouched since its construction, are exceptional. The U-shaped main building is surrounded by a dry moat. The owner of the château, Marie-Hélène de Roffignac, the family of the Counts of Roffignac, gives tours (1 hour). She's an enthusiastic visitor, with lots of anecdotes to tell.
