KILDREN'S TILES

The ancient Tuileries of Tâtre dates back to the th century. The abandonment of their exploitation in 1963 resulted in their ruin. In order to preserve its artisan heritage, the municipality used to safeguard the site, of which two of the old furnaces were highlighted. To become a tile, the malaxée land was laminated and trimmed in plates, that women arrondissaient on their thighs… Witnesses of these tuilières productions, many ears of couille are still standing on roofs of the region.
